Every now and then we pick a Yogi of the week – anyone who does yoga is a yogi, so it could be you! This week it’s Hayley Roberts, and we had a quick chat after class today as she was collecting her after-class orange (yum yum):
Yin Yan: So Hayley you yogi, when did you start your yoga journey?
HAYLEY: I started in January and fell in love with the amazing high you get afterwards, I tried hot yoga first but working 9-5 meant I found it difficult to get to class without finishing late in the evening.
YY: Is that when you found Yin Yan?
HAYLEY: Yes, I saw it on twitter and the 45 minute lunchtime classes in the commercial district are almost too good to be true, perfect for me as so convenient – and it’s really cheap!
YY: Ha that’s what my accountant keep telling me! So what’s the best thing about yoga for you?
HAYLEY: For me it’s the feeling you get afterwards, I can get a bit hyper and after yoga I feel really calm but also buzzing, there’s nothing like it! I also love the sense of achievement you get from learning to do new poses – this week I managed to get into wheel for the first time!
YY: That’s great, no wonder you’re yogi of the week! Any advice for anyone thinking about giving it a go?
HAYLEY: 100% just try it! Anyone who works in an office knows about the 3pm slump, but the Yin Yan lunchtime classes re-energise you and leave you feeling glorious!
YY: Fantastic! So which classes do you enjoy the most?
HAYLEY: I thought the Chi Ball class on Monday was really cute, really nice and flowing – a bit like dance and yoga all mixed up. And I love Nicola’s classes on the roof at Tempest, oh and Emma’s classes in Exchange Station are like doing yoga with little miss sunshine!
YY: Well it’s absolutely wonderful having you involved with Yin Yan Hayley, you’re doing brilliantly so lots of gold stars for you Yogi of the Week!
